Friends of Carlington & Hampton

Did you know that the Friends of Carlington and Hampton host informative nature walks at Hampton Park?

I got to spend this morning learning about the trees and vegetation, that are right in our very own backyard of Hampton Park! The park used to have an active stream and over time has seen numerous changes. Some of the trees date back 300-400 years. However, with climate change and increased usage of the park, the park faces challenges such as invasive species, soil compaction, foot traffic and human factors (off leash dogs, walking on non-walking paths and so on). We need to work together as a community to ensure this park remains for generations to come.

Thank you to the community, the Friends of Carling and Hampton Park and the National Capital Commission for maintaining this gem in the heart of our neighbourhood.
