Iona Park Clean-Up

As part of the Cleaning the Capital organized by the City of Ottawa, we got a group of 12 adults and toddlers excited to clean up Iona Park this Sunday, October 5! We collected 2 large garbage bag of waste, mostly plastic wrappers and food packaging. Overall the park was fairly clean which is a sign the Westboro community respects and cares for their parks.

The kids were excited to volunteer and be part of the bigger vision of ‘keeping the parks clean.’ My son was waiting all week for this, and is now the unofficial park ‘litter police,’ so if you accidentally litter, you might get a 4-year-old approaching you.

Thanks to the City of Ottawa, and amazing friends and family that helped us at the clean-up! We love Iona Park and want to keep it clean and safe for everyone to enjoy.
